Have you ever tried a Metafit class??
Metafit is an effective, time efficient class where you can work you whole body in just 30
minutes and achieve great results. The sessions involve functional movements with body
weight only exercises, involving periods of maximum exertion followed by incomplete rest
periods.
The effectiveness of Metafit lies in its ability to help maintain or increase your lean muscle
mass and in turn, increase your Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)
RMR accounts for 65-75% of all calories that we burn which means that by increasing your
RMR, you increase your fat burning potential. Lean muscle mass and metabolism are
intrinsically linked.
Lean muscle mass benefits are attained through a combination of strength (e.g., push ups) ,
plyometric ( e.g., squat jumps) and core exercises ( e.g., planks). Metafit works major muscle
groups to a high level of exertion. This depletes muscle glycogen stores and creates a
metabolic disturbance in the body. It also works via the Excess Post Exercise Oxygen
Consumption (EPOC) whereby the body returns itself to a state of rest. This process of
returning the body to homeostasis burns a large number of calories.
Following a Metafit class, your RMR remains elevated for approximately 24 hours. Whilst
these sessions are not performed in the “fat burning” zone (this involves aerobic training
such as long distance running or swimming), the benefits of these sessions remain with you
for the rest of the day and night. It is therefore usually best not performed every day but is
a fantastic combination with other forms of fitness training such as aerobic training and
yoga.
Metafit is a great workout for all age groups and fitness levels. It can help to counteract the
decrease in lean muscle mass that comes with ageing and is a great way to gain some
fitness, tone up and lose weight. Sessions can be modified to accommodate all fitness
levels.

online capacity.
